Insurance Claims

Should I Call My Insurance?

If you have never had an insurance claim before, it can be confusing.

Generally, you call your agent and they might say to get an estimate.  Or, you might report a claim directly and they assign you an adjuster.  Sometimes they send another company out to look at the damage.

Every company is different and every storm is different.  When a storm is big enough then the “Cat Team” (catastrophe team) is dispatched.

You have rights as a policyholder and sometimes it is important for you to exercise those rights.  Most companies are fair and honest.

It never hurts to have another company on your side of the claim.  Because I spent nearly a decade on the insurance side of the fence, as a multi-line insurance adjuster, I can advocate for you to ensure that you are treated fairly and your rights are preserved.

If you report a claim and the claim isn’t payable then it still goes on your loss history – this is not a good thing.

If you report a claim and your roof is leaking or your windows are broken then you have a duty to protect the property, but you are not allowed to repair the damage yet as the adjuster has not looked at the loss.

I can step up with you and help you to navigate your claim.  An insurance claim can be an easy and relatively painless experience when you navigate your claim with an expert.

I can also be your first call so that you don’t turn in a claim that isn’t going to be above your deductible.  I inspect roofs free all year-round while writing free estimates.

Not only do I have the background as an insurance adjuster, but I am also a HAAG Certified Residential Roof Inspector, which can aid you in getting covered claims turned into to your insurance carrier accurately.

Many things can be complicated when they are new to a person.  Often times there is disappointment when expectations are not met.  It is difficult to have accurate expectations of something unfamiliar – I can help you to navigate your insurance claim.

Together we can protect and restore your property without negatively impacting your insurance loss ratio.  Please contact me today.
